Caring for Your Precious Gemstones
Gemstones last lifetimes, but they reward gentle care. Store each stone separately to prevent harder gems from scratching softer ones.
Clean most stones with mild soapy water and a soft brush. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for emeralds and pearls, which can be damaged by vibration and chemicals.
Remove rings before swimming or applying lotions, and have settings checked yearly so a precious stone is never lost to a loose claw.
